About the ARCERS Half Marathon
Who We Are
Abuja Run Club is an energetic and inclusive running community committed to promoting fitness, health, and social impact through organized runs and marathons. Our signature event, the ARCERS Half Marathon, is not just a race, it's a celebration of purpose, charity, and vibrant community energy.
What started with one tired runner searching for connection has become a movement that’s changing the rhythm of an entire city. In March 2020, we launched Abuja Run Club with just 3 runners, a shared belief in community, and a desire to make outdoor running safe, social, and empowering. Today, we’re over 300 active members strong, welcoming runners from all over the world who live in or visit Abuja. From interval Tuesdays to sunrise long runs and social hikes, we bring people together through movement, mindset, and meaning. Through weekly runs, outreach, and advocacy, we’ve helped hundreds find not just their pace — but their people.
Our Mission
To empower people to run — through group running. We’re here for the ones who run for discipline, joy, healing, and hope. Because we know that the road is easier, and the journey is richer, when we run together.
Our Objectives
- Host a safe, professionally managed race
- Engage over 2,000 runners across 3 race formats
- Raise more than ₦50M for menstrual hygiene, digital literacy, and empowerment initiatives
- Strengthen community bonds and wellness culture
- Deliver brand value and measurable impact for sponsors and supporters
Our Impact
Proceeds from the half marathon support educational projects, medical outreach, youth empowerment, and other local initiatives.
